DIY Houses By Night | Fellow Fellow
If you’ve ever been overseas, I’m pretty sure you would have pictures of amazing buildings from your travels. But once you come home, the pictures probably sit on your computer, languishing in their folder! Wouldn’t this be an amazing way to display them? Plus: great conversation piece! Just follow the image guide and you’re on your way to some great art with special memories.
Wow, this is beautiful. I have lots of photos from Amsterdam and Bruges that would work for this.
I’m going to Italy in a year, can’t wait to do this with the Colosseum!
I made my very own glitter/color blocked shoes this week!
More record bowls! I can’t get enough of them!
Two of the bowls are made from Frank Sinatra records. (:
I get all of the records for $0.10 a piece.
Picture frame earring holder
What you will need:
-Picture frame
-Screening/Netting (I used window screening)
-Hot glue
-Ribbon
-Acrylic Paint (Optional for decorating)
1. Remove the back and glass from the frame.
2. Size your screening/netting to fit the size of the inside of the frame, including where your frame back would lay over the edges.
3. Using hot glue, adhere the screen to the back, inside of the frame.
4. Attach ribbon to the top of the frame with hot glue and tie in a bow at the top.
5. Paint desired designs on the frame.
6. Hang! (:
Revamp your old flats!
I found this awesome tribal print trim at my grandmothers house and she let me use it. The shoes are 2 years old and I never wear them anymore, they got to girly looking for me.
1. Remove extra fabric pieces from the area of the shoe that you will be adding your trim to. I simply used a seam ripper and took off all of the extra fabric and embelishments taking it back down to the base of the shoe.
2. Lay out your trim and size it to your shoe.
3. Cut the trim 1/4 of an inch longer than the needed side.
4. Fold under the raw edges and hot glue to the shoe.
5. Let dry and wear!
Record Bowls
1. Purchase records. I bought mine at a thrift store for $0.20 each. These happen to be Neil Diamond and Billy Joel.
2. Preheat over to 250.
3. Flip an oven safe bowl upside down and place the record on top.
4. Place both in the oven for 8 minutes. Once it has been in the oven for 8 minutes you will see that the record has begun to fall and shape around the upside down bowl.
5. Remove the bowl and record from the oven. Flip the bowl right side up and place the record inside the bowl.
6. Place both the bowl and the record back into the oven for 2-3 minutes until it has sunk completely into the bowl.
At this point your record bowl is finished! You can sort of shape your bowl once you pull it out of the oven immediately. However, it is hot! Be careful!
There you have it, record bowls!
Tribal bird embroidered pockets.
I chose to embroider a boring old pair of high-rise Levi’s denim shorts.
Top Right: Initial look of the pockets.
Top Left: Remove stitching on the pockets. After removing the stitching I hand drew the design onto the pockets.
Bottom Right: Embroider your design onto the pocket.
Bottom Left: Repeat on the second pocket, reversing the design.
